Helical gearboxes: parallel-shaft, highly efficient.
Helical gearboxes are the robust choice for parallel shafts: single- or multi-stage, with ratios from i = 1.25 to 500 — and an efficiency that, in continuous operation, saves energy costs with every percentage point.
- ≥ 98 % per stage
- parallel-shaft
- multi-stage
- maintenance-friendly
On a continuous runner, every wasted percentage point of efficiency adds up over the years to real energy costs. And gearing or bearings that do not suit the application take their revenge — in noise, wear and maintenance standstills.
We match gearing quality, bearings and lubrication to your operating conditions and design deliberately for efficiency — from 98 % per stage, robust and accessible for maintenance.

How the Helical Gearboxes works.
Direct mesh
Power is transmitted directly via cylindrical gears. Spur toothing generates no axial forces; helical toothing enables quieter running at the cost of higher bearing loads.
Efficiency over the operating life
High efficiency reduces energy costs and heat input. Over years of continuous operation, that is a tangible cost advantage.
Easy to maintain
A clear layout and good accessibility make inspection and service fast — less downtime during maintenance.

The knowledge behind the design.
A helical gearbox is the right choice when:
- input and output sit on parallel shafts,
- high efficiency in continuous operation counts,
- simple maintenance and good accessibility matter,
- robustness and a favourable price-performance ratio are required.
Only one mesh point per stage
The direct, parallel tooth mesh produces no transverse forces from inclined contact — resulting in the high efficiency of around 98 % per stage.
Noise & running smoothness
Helical toothing runs more quietly than spur toothing but generates axial forces that the bearings must absorb. We choose the gearing to match speed and noise requirements.
Economy over the operating life
For continuous runners, even a few percentage points of efficiency add up to noticeable energy costs — the design therefore specifically optimises for η.
Efficiency η
The share of input power that arrives at the output as usable power. In multi-stage gearboxes, the stage efficiencies multiply — every percentage point counts in continuous operation.
Configuration (coaxial / parallel / right-angle)
The position of input and output relative to each other: coaxial (single axis, planetary), parallel-shaft (helical) or at an angle (bevel/crown gear). It determines installation space, stiffness and integration.
Gearing quality
Manufacturing accuracy of the teeth (e.g. per DIN/ISO quality grades). Higher quality means smoother running, lower wear and better efficiency.
Ratio i
Ratio of input to output speed (i = n_in / n_out). A high ratio converts high speed into high torque — achievable across multiple stages.
Lubrication & sealing
Lubricant film, viscosity, lubricant selection and sealing concept determine service life and maintenance effort — matched to speed, temperature, mounting position and ambient conditions.

What sets us apart from off-the-shelf.
Designed for your load profile
We calculate every gearbox on the actual load spectrum and the real operating conditions of your plant — not merely on a theoretical nominal rating.
Brand-independent service
We maintain, repair and replace gearboxes from all manufacturers — including reverse engineering of legacy equipment and spare parts to original dimensions or with an improved design.
Fast support when it matters most
Downtime does not keep office hours. Our service hotline is staffed around the clock — we assess the situation, agree the next steps with you and dispatch our service technicians right away.

Frequently asked questions.
/ 01When is a helical gearbox the right choice?+
Whenever input and output are parallel and high efficiency, robustness and simple maintenance come first — for example in continuous runners such as conveyors, pumps or fans./ 02How high is the efficiency?+
Per stage, well-designed helical gearboxes achieve around 98 % and more. In multi-stage configurations the stage efficiencies multiply accordingly./ 03Do you also supply multi-stage or combined configurations?+
Yes. We build single- and multi-stage helical gearboxes as well as combinations with planetary or bevel gear stages, matched to your ratio and installation space.
