Slewing drives: bearing and drive. In one.
Slewing rings combine rolling bearing and gearing in one compact unit. On request we supply complete slewing drive systems — from the slewing ring through reduction gear, motor and control to commissioning.
- bearing + drive
- axial · radial · tilting moment
- complete package
- compact
Combining bearing, reduction gear, motor and control from several suppliers costs installation space and coordination effort — and in a damage case, time: while everyone points at everyone else, your slewing drive stands still until the question of responsibility is settled.
We deliver the slewing ring as a coordinated slewing drive package from a single source: one unit carries axial, radial and tilting moments and provides the rotary motion — with one contact, in a service case too.

How the Slewing Drives works.
Multiple functions, one component
The slewing ring carries axial, radial and tilting moments simultaneously — and delivers the rotary motion. That saves installation space, weight and interfaces.
Complete slewing drive package
Slewing ring, matching reduction gear, motor and control come from us, coordinated with each other — one contact, one responsibility.
Designed for the application
Internal or external gearing, sealing concept and drive power are determined by the load, environment and duty cycle of your plant.
Where our drives work.
Wherever heavy loads have to be slewed or rotated.
- Harbour and mobile cranes
- Excavators and slewing booms
- Swing bridges and lock gates
- Turntables and rotary tables
- Wind yaw systems
- Special machines with slewing function
The knowledge behind the design.
A slewing drive is the right choice when:
- bearing and drive should merge into one compact unit,
- axial, radial and tilting moments act simultaneously,
- a slewing or rotating function under high load is required,
- installation space, weight and interfaces need to be reduced.
One component carries three load types
The slewing ring simultaneously carries axial and radial forces as well as tilting moments. Design parameters are diameter, type and the resulting tilting moment from load and lever arm.
Internal or external gearing
Depending on the application, the drive gearing sits on the inside or outside of the ring. We match it with the reduction gear and motor to the required slewing torque and duty cycle.
Sealing & lubrication as service-life factors
Especially in outdoor use, the sealing and lubrication concept decides the service life — matched to environment, speed and maintenance interval.
Slewing ring
A large-diameter rolling bearing that simultaneously carries axial and radial forces as well as tilting moments and enables rotary motion — often with an integrated drive.
Configuration (coaxial / parallel / right-angle)
The position of input and output relative to each other: coaxial (single axis, planetary), parallel-shaft (helical) or at an angle (bevel/crown gear). It determines installation space, stiffness and integration.
Lubrication & sealing
Lubricant film, viscosity, lubricant selection and sealing concept determine service life and maintenance effort — matched to speed, temperature, mounting position and ambient conditions.
Service factor KA
A safety margin that accounts for the shock and overload character of the application. Shock-loaded drives (e.g. crushers, shears) require a significantly higher factor than uniformly running machines.
Slewing Drives by ATP — designed for your real load spectrum, not picked from a catalogue.
What sets us apart from off-the-shelf.
Designed for your load profile
We calculate every gearbox on the actual load spectrum and the real operating conditions of your plant — not merely on a theoretical nominal rating.
Brand-independent service
We maintain, repair and replace gearboxes from all manufacturers — including reverse engineering of legacy equipment and spare parts to original dimensions or with an improved design.
Fast support when it matters most
Downtime does not keep office hours. Our service hotline is staffed around the clock — we assess the situation, agree the next steps with you and dispatch our service technicians right away.
Engineering from Austria
Design, manufacturing and service from a single source in Marchtrenk — since 1995. Short paths, dedicated contacts, full responsibility for the result.
Frequently asked questions.
/ 01Do you supply only the slewing ring or the complete drive?+
Both, as you wish. Our strength is the complete slewing drive package: slewing ring, matched reduction gear, motor and control from a single source./ 02Can you replace an existing slewing ring?+
Yes, brand-independently. We survey the existing unit, determine mounting dimensions and load case and deliver a fitting replacement — with an improved design where needed./ 03What loads can a slewing ring carry?+
A slewing ring carries axial and radial forces as well as tilting moments simultaneously. The specific values result from diameter, type and the design for your load case.
